Research Interest StatementGreg Perry's research interests include a variety of topics. For several years he has focused on farm asset depreciation, estimating taxation costs borne by U.S. farmers and their competitors, and identifying methods to manage irrigation in a profitable, environmentally friendly way. These remain areas of interest, but his major area of interest currently is in the area of social capital, specifically how relationships impact land transactions and influence negotiations in other business situations. Biographical SketchGregory M. Perry has been a faculty member at Oregon State since 1986 and has been a professor here since 1996. In 1996 he won the Savery Award in OSU's College of Agricultural Sciences as the Outstanding Young Faculty member. He spent the 1997-98 academic year on leave in the Dean's Office while participating in the ESCOP/ACOP Leadership Development Program. Currently he chairs the Undergraduate Committee in the AREc Department while carrying out research and teaching responsibilities in the Department.
