Biographical Sketch

Dr. Gopinath joined the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics in 1997, and has been a Professor since 2006. Since 2008, Dr. Gopinath is the Director of the Graduate Program in Applied Economics. He served as an Associate Editor of the American Journal of Agricultural Economics (2004-2007) and two other professional journals, Chair of the Selected Papers Committee of AAEA Annual Meetings in Chicago (2001), and Chair of the Program Committee of the International Agricultural Trade Research Consortium (2007-2008).

Research Interest

Dr. Gopinath's research program focuses on: Technical Change, Economic Growth and Development, and International Trade and Foreign Direct Investment at the Firm, Industry and Economy Levels.
