Dr. Nicole BallengerDr. Susan M. Capalbo

Dr. Ballenger is vice-provost and former department head, and professor of Agricultural and Applied Economics at the University of Wyoming. She has served as an Assistant Administrator for the Economic Research Service of the USDA and as Senior Staff Economist on the President's Council of Economic Advisors. Her research experience includes evaluation of the economic benefits of land-grant research institutions, and studies for the National Research Council on evaluating returns to research.

Dr. Capalbo is department head and professor in Agricultural and Resource Economics at Oregon State University. She has been involved in the economics of climate change, carbon sequestration and integrated policy analysis and tradeoff assessment for the past 15 years, as well as integrating science and economics to address issues of sustainable agricultural policies in both developed and developing countries. She has been the PI on projects funded by the DOE, USDA, NSF, and EPA, an active participant in women in science and engineering programs, and was PI for an NSF ADVANCE grant to advance women as research leaders.
